Is there anything tricky, other than isolating the seat belt tensioning system, about removing a drivers seat?
TIA :y

Side airbag!!
If that pops on your chops, that'll smart in the morning ;D
As you have already said, also pretensioners - you'll chew your smalls if that goes off
-
Disconnect the battery for an hour before you start and leave it off until the seat is reconnected. 3 plugs near the sill and 4 torx bolts and it's out :y
[edit]And FFS don't drop it when it's out as it's heavy![/edit]

If you have electric seats undo the 4 bolts before disconnecting the electrics, as you need to motor the seats to get access !!
Then disconnect the battery, make a cuppa, read the paper, before disconnecting the seat plugs ...
:)

Thanks Nige,
Non electric :(, but would like to know about isolating side airbags, I am hoping to repair the seat heating, as PedroMV6 suggests that it can be done on leather seats. :-?

Can anyone amplify this please? Disconnection/isolation whatever?

Disconnect the battery and leave it for 15 mins before you pull any plugs at the side of the seat.

If the battery is disconnected that's good enough, you don't need to do anything else. As said previously, leave it disconnected for an hour before you attempt anything. But, make sure you do not let the battery connecter thing touch the terminal. The bit you disconnect, put it in a cloth or wrap it in a bit of cardboard. As if it touches the battery terminals the air bag light will come on if the seat is unplugged.
Also raise the seat to the highest position to make it easier to get to the bolts out.
