On my way back from B&Q. Put up a good fight and managed to prevent them getting anything for about 10 minutes. The stole the mobile and wallet having demanded the pin number. Of course, I gave them the wrong one.
I was attacked by 4 men, who held me to the ground kicking and punching me and kicking my head into the kerb. If a passer by had not come along, I do not know what would have happened.
The police were excellent, took a detailed statement and we drove round for some 30 minutes checking the area out. Car was a 5 series BM but the officer preferred his old Omega! Told him about this site and he said he would have a look.
Apparently, I will have a black eye tomorrow and a few large bruises. Still, it could have been worse I suppose.
Does anyone know what to do about a stolen photo card driving license?
-
So sorry to hear of your experience and wishing you a speedy recovery.
If there is any justice in the world, the culprits will get what they deserve. Suggest calling dvla and tell them what happened. They can advise you then.
-
Please see link to get new license

-
Thanks for that - I would apply on line, but, at present, I don't have any form of credit / debit card!
Still, when this comes through, I will take this route so thanks again for the info.
-

could be worse!!
-
Otherwise the following tells you how to do it on the phone or via the post

P.S. Your car is a very nice example!!
-
I rather despise this scum. I wish i'd've been with you mate, but if there was two of us they probably would'nt have tried it on even with 4 of 'em 'coz thier cowardly lowlife b******s Dogs hunt in packs. " of us could have gone in swinging & given them a taste.
-
Any CCTV in the area?
-
Commiserations ... not good ... but at least you are not badly hurt.. could have been worse :(
Shame the courts don't give decent punishments that would make these idiots think twice .. but then again what are the chances of them being caught ?? :(
-
Any CCTV in the area?
yep.. if there is , will have some details
-
Sorry to hear this... :(
Yes, could have been much worst... :-X
I read about a town in the US where all adult males have to carry a gun by law. You would have thought this to be a very violent place? On the contrary, they have almost zero crime.... maybe it's an urban myth (I read it on the 'net so it must be true ;D), but you can't help thinking that our personal safety is no longer what it used to be... :(
-
Thanks for all the replies & support - I appreciate it.
There was no CCTV in the area but as I say, the police were very good and drove me around for some time trying to spot them.
The two officers said that they go round in gangs looking for prey. Going in swinging would have been good! Now that time has passed, I keep thinking what if I had done that or this etc. it all happened so quickly.
I am with you on the courts issue, in fact I had a good moan to the police in the car about the courts. They said that they go to all the hard work of catching the criminals, only for the courts to let them off.
The amount of reports on the police radio about violence was amazing. There was an incident involving a club hammer, a stanley knife, somebody being bashed with a hammer - all this in the space of half an hour! I was not aware that we live in such a violent world.
-
makes me angry.
glad you're ok, though I suspect will be sore in the morning...
-
Beginning to feel quite sore already. Two lumps appearing next to both eyes.
-
Sorry to hear this... :(

the people from the region where I was born mostly carry guns to protect them as its a mountain area and there are many "animals" but crime rate is really low..

Sorry to hear this >:(
-
B***ards, glad to hear your not too badly hurt.
-
Absolute f*cking scumbags it's about time that the courts started to hand out the punishment that this sort of crime should attract. Stuff the shortage of prison places, build more and bang the bast*rds up for a long time >:(
-
Really sad to read this. Something has to be done about this level of violence on our streets.
-
Sorry to hear about this, hope your'e ok and wish you a speedy recovery
-
Recently in our local rag a 55yr old man & his wife were attacked by 7 youths whilst on thier way home from an anniversery meal. The man had hospital treatment as he was hit with bits of wood.
NOTHING was stolen....WHY? My parents are'nt much older than this. What would you do?
-
Sorry to hear the bad news mate >:(...........hope your feeling better soon (not too sore).
-
Sorry to hear about your misfortune, glad your not too badly hurt.
-
Sorry to hear about the trouble you had. I know its said you should just hand over whatever the scumbags ask for but I think I would have tried to fight them off as well the only thing is you dont know what they are carrying these days.
-
Im as angry and gutted as everyone else- hope your not too sore today ....
Guess we better get used to this, law and order is crumbling and the goverment is more intreted in funding immigrants than cops on the street. Oh and the prisions are full anyway. >:(
-
cowardly scum!!! >:(
good to hear you're not badly hurt mate.
-
OMG :o What a shocking story.I am just glad that you are okay.(Apart from the bruising). You hear so much about youths and violence these days unfortunatley nothing seems beyond them >:(
Angie xx

Thanks ever so much for all your kind words. It is parts of life like this forum that make you remember there is plenty of good out there still. :)
I sort of slept last night, and my eye is not as black as I thought it would be. Few bumps on my head but nothing too serious.
I am still here and live to deal with the next adventure!!
Having experienced this, and traveled around in the police car last night listening to their radio, I had no idea that violence was so prevalent in our society.
It certainly makes you think.
Thanks again everyone.
-
I am glad to hear your ok as said it could of been alot worse, at least you can replace anything that was taken. you cant replace a life.
I hope they catch the scum who did this but i bet you they get 4 hours coumunity service or somthing rubbish like that Grrrr
-
Hi,
I'm sorry to here about your trouble especially as i only live down the road in Hillingdon :o.
At least you got away with little damage :).
Which B&Q were you at, the one near Tesco's Yeading?
I'm afraid to say that this area is going downhill fast which is a pity but it seems to be a national trait >:(!!!
All the best and hope you can enjoy Christmas.
Pete :y.
-
Yep, it was B&Q Yeading - I was walking along the bypass. The annoying things is that I did consider going along Willow Tree Lane, but I was in a bit of a hurry so went the short way home.
Where abouts in Hillingdon are you?
Christmas should be OK thanks. :)

yeah thats true, seen it in documentary's a few times, it does make sense though, in this shit country if someone breaks into a house, they know they cannot be hurt by the occupier and if you do they are they can sue them, so its a win win situation. whereas if they were about to break into a house where they KNEW the person had a firearm and the right to use it, i guarantee you they would think twice
Really sad to read this. Something has to be done about this level of violence on our streets.
yeap, and the only possible way i can see of it ever improving is if the law is taking into your own hands!
Recently in our local rag a 55yr old man & his wife were attacked by 7 youths whilst on thier way home from an anniversery meal. The man had hospital treatment as he was hit with bits of wood.

i stopped something like this happening, unfortunately we were a little late but managed to stop to junkies beating the crap out of some guy coming home from the pub, we were moving house, driving through the center of a town only a few hundred yards from the COUNTY police station. guy got jumped from behind, hit over the head with something, 2 junkies started jumping over his head and kicking while he was on the ground, then they dragged him onto the road, we were about 4-5 cars back, i came up, horn on, full beams, pulled the handbrake, screeched to a stop, my girlfriend jumped out (baring in mind she is 4"10) n ran up to the junkies with me close on her tail, one of them went to go for her so i flew at him n he backed off, (we were on a bridge n he was going in the water if he tried anything) then the other junkies seen what was happening n ran off leaving this guy in the middle of the road ko'd. by this point my g/f was on to the phone to the police, the easiest way to describe the location as "next to paisley police station" 15 oppsing mins later, no police in site, we had got the guy up, he was seriously concussed and wanting to fight with the guys who jumped him (natural fight of flight reaction) after another 10 mins of calming him down and reasoning with him, (this was 25 mins n her majesty's pathetic police force still hadn't shown face!) we then seen the 2 junkies coming back with friends and weapon's, so we had no choice but to give this complete stranger a lift home only to find out his wife was 8 month pregnant and as soon as she seen him she broke down.
Now the worse thing about it is i have a LOT more story similar to this, which all seem to revolve around me and my friends having to do the job the shite police force cant because theyre too busy chasing around kids for writing on lampposts or hiding in a bush waiting to catch someone speeding, all so they have a bit of paper showing they have prevented "crime" shame they dont mention they crime they are preventing is a pathetic joke for crime! (when i refer to the police i generally mean the force, not the officers! i have friends and family in the police and know they are just as frustrated as me)
sorry for the rant lol

This is because you probably told the police that the junkies fled the scene.... they only respond to crime in progress. You should have said that they are hitting you over the head with a brick and you don't know how much longer you can last, and if that did not help then you should tell them that you are bashing them bad.... then they would have shown up.

Look on the bright side. Hopefully, the stuff they bought with any monies made will kill the scrotes as soon as they pump it in their arms >:(
Addicts do not need help, they need shooting. How I long for a supplier to supply contaminated stuff to kill off a few >:(

Good idea TB :y

There are some f*ckers in this world that need a good sorting out. They probably didn't get enough attention from their mum (or more likely foster mum).
I'd be looking for revenge now, but that's just me.
Glad to hear that you escaped with just a few bruises.
-
little gits.... i lived just down the road from you for 3 years whilst at Uni... its not the best area.
Living in Hayes Middlesex, on an average night i heard more sirens in one night, than i do in a YEAR of living in brackley!
See a lot less of other things too :-X

I live off of Long Lane by what used to be Pratts Insurance.

Sorry about your ordeal. I had something simelar, but not such violence. It's unpleasant, but belive me - you become stronger as a result :y
-
That is horrible - they will get whats coming to them - they will pick on someone bigger/tougher/better armed.
Hope you get better soon.

When it comes to paedophiles, we say that the end-users should be punished severely because their demand creates the market.
When it comes to drug addicts, we say the addicts are victims and let's help them instead of prosecute them.
Why?
Did it not occur to anyone that if we target the drugs end-users, the market for drugs will shrink....? No drug addicts, no drug dealers.

Yes but we live in a modern civil society, we help the folk that do wrong and jail the folk that defend themselves from the wrongdoers >:(

somone someday will punch thier ticket >:(
get well soon

I wish i had the answers. I'm sure there are many serving officers who would dearly love to deal with such pondlife in the manner they deserve. I think their hands are tied by red tape, cps etc. It's easy to blame the police but i think the main problem lies deeper, buried in bureaucracy. Too many wannabee chiefs stopping the indians from getting on with their job. I don't believe in mob rule, we are supposed to be a civilised country but this human rights PC Bull has gone too far. Once again too many non jobs.
-
Sorry to hear about that. Hope you get better and they they get the sods.
-
sorry to hear your of your experience too. so grateful you'll be seeing Christmas - albeit with a bruise, but at least not from a hospital bed!
if nothing better, maybe they'll make sure there's cctv in the area you were attacked to monitor it happening to others. it might make some scum think twice! I'd say 'stop' but sometimes i'm sceptical of the usefulness of cctv!
example being my mate has had his security licence suspended for leaping to the defence of a woman being beaten up! he just couldn't drive past an assault in progress so stepped in to help! the bloke he floored happened to be a police officer....who knows where that incident will lead further! nobody else came to help tho, and it was in a cctv covered area........
oh happy christmas!! :) :)

its a waste of money completely! i remember calling 999 while my mate had his bike taken at knife point, the operator was like "yes we can see the incident on CCTV, please make your way to the police station to make a statement" [smiley=shocked.gif] we had to walk to the police station, wait for and hour to give a statement, then when we seen the CCTV the police said it was not clear enough to use in court, yet you could see his face, clothes (and knife) perfectly! needless to say my friend never seen his bike again n the ned tried to do the same thing the next weekend. luckly enough we werent unarmed this time and we all kept our bikes. (its great when kids are FORCED to carry a weapon just to have a night out cycling)

If it was the same ned why couldn't you snatch the stolen bike back?
Or at least rob the turd

Known ones
Chef walking through Barton Street area of Gloucester, attempted mugging for his knife, chef black belt - snapped the arm of the mugger (as in broken bones).
A trainer on a course my dad was on - black belt in something dangerous.
Beat up a small group of muggers and rescued a grateful person.
