Title: Blower trunking
Post by: robson on 15 January 2010, 14:17:17
Does anybody know if the trunking which takes the blower resistor can be replaced without taking the dashboard off. Both the clips broke on my trunking when replacing the Hedgehog resistor. Have thought about gluing back in but once done that would mean it could not be changed in future. All bright ideas would be received with pleasure,

It's possible to remove the blower itself, on my facelift anyway, without taking the whole dash out. It was still a long, awful job and there's a chance of breaking clips and plastic tubes.

I'd look hard at a way of wedging the controller in.

Thats what I feared I have experimented with a silicon gasket maker which may do the job I am also going to see if I can screw a support into the trunking, It might end up with super glue and hope that it never again needs replacing

Hi,
Sorry, I have not had to do anything like this on my motor, so I don't know just what needs holding, But,

I had to do a lot of repairs to the air distribution trunking on a Safrane I had many years ago.  Very awkward to get at etc but I found Duck Tape and some very long, (or several strung together) wiring cable ties, and some long Jubilee type clips fixed just about everything.
