Title: ignition key

my key will not turn in ignition went for petrol all was fine got in car and key will not turn ?? omega 2ltr 1997 ant ideas before i rip out the lock ??  :'(

try pulling it very, very slightly outwards ....  don't know why this works but it sometimes does on worn locks  :(

Also take the "pressure" off the lock by slightly rotateing the steering wheel

As above, but if this does not work try spraying some WD40 into the lock to soften up the old grease and dirt.
If you do get it to turn then follow the guide in the maitainance section to refurb the barrel  asap.

This happens to me at times, such as if I pull the key out too quickly and don't get a clunk sound...

My advice is to slowly insert the key at an angle and slowly wiggle the key into the barrel. Works for me when it happens...
