Just broken a rear spring on my 3.2 Elite due to driving on rutted ice in freezing temperatures. Problem is I cant find a replacement anywhere - all the parts listed seem to be for models without self levelling suspension. Are the springs really that different?
Any ideas where I can get replacements or is a visit to the stealers?

the springs are different on the self levelling suspension .................... it is recomended that you change both . . but thats your choice ... if you have a local partco shop near you they are pretty good ... look in the yellow pages for partco .... give them a ring ... if they havnt got one they can usually get one within a day .. good luck .

Dave I would PM Mr. Mark DTM as I am sure he knows a place to get springs from at a very good price. :y

I had to replace mine on a saloon last year... After a lot of research we couldn't really find any difference between standard and self-levelling springs (worth worrying about) so I fitted standard ones.
There have been no negative results in the last year :y :y

Thanks for the replies. I cant see any visual difference on the springs - maybe it's the loading.

Ouch. Just been to the stealers to enquire about new springs. They are a different part number from coil springs on non-self levelling models - pn 90295666 - and come in at £340.75 for the pair ;D :D ;D (only sold in pairs too).
So, in answer to my earlier question on what the difference was between self levelling coils and non self levelling coils?...... about £300 quid !!! >:( >:( >:(

As I said above... I replaced mine with standard saloon ones and haven't noticed any adverse effects :y :y

Too right. Although I have just phoned a local factor who says he can get me an equivalent for £45. I'll check them out tomorrow.
