anybody know anything about the stuff ,is it cheaper ? , any mods needed to run it? :-/
-
All new pipes (silicone ?) on an omega I think, they don't take kindly to it
-
bugger :(
-
here they use cheap cooking oils..And smell fried meat, fish and potato ;D ::)
-
I use a 50/50 mix of Rapeseed oil and Diesel in my wifes Rover but I wouldnt recommend it in a Vauxhall ::)

Brand new cooking oil is cheaper than diesel by a large margin. Almost makes me want to take over a Fish & Chip shop and get a Tractor. :y
Problem with bio fuels, IMHO, is that they're sucking up resources that we need to feed ourselves and pushing up the price of oils artificially, which leads to deforestation to grow more oils. Yes, they might solve some political issues with using fossil fuels if you take a blinkered, short term view (as any politician would) but the big picture is that bio fuels allow you to grow crops without actually feeding anyone nor removing any carbon from the environment. Anything else that grows does one or the other.

Some good info...

omega tractors do not take very well to bio diesel it seams.
Generally older cars say pug 405's will run fine, but on modern cars it blows fuel pumps and all sorts.

Some good info...
I just found a omega 2.5td on one of these sites that runs on 85% used oil and 15% unleaded :o
As I am led to believe good Bio 'diesel' needs to have a 5% methanol content and use liquid oil(solid oils can be used) this way you do not need a heater system fitted,
as far as fuel pumps go apparently bosch pumps cope well. :y

You'd be starving all day with that coming out of your exhaust.
