Title: Reasonable or NOT

Need a pair of tyres changing on mega.....bought a nearly new set from a mate for good price..rang local tyre place and they want £20=00 + vat per whell to fit my own tyres..seems bit steep or am i just in a mean mood !

That sounds about right. There's so little mark-up on tyres, fitment is how they make their money.

so that's a bit over £23 per wheel!! :o

personally i wouldn't pay that much, but then i'm a tight git ::)

Thought it sounded pricey,but then I did save on the tyres so perhaps it is just "tight wallet" syndrome.

bear in mind that some of that will be the disposal cost of the old tyres as well

I paid £15 for a puncture repair, which is more work but no disposal. I think its a bit steep myself, but remember they will be doing the valve? and balancing as well.

Just back from local tyre dealers..they did me a deal of £60=00 for the 4 including balance and disposal for cash,so think I got a fair deal ,now feel better and car might grip the road again..good bye to the Nankongs but they lasted 23k so lets hope the ebay P6000 last  as well.

Been charged £25 at a small local tyre shop here a couple of years ago... that's London  :(

got charged a tenner for a puncture repair, but considering the valve and balancing, not bad at all, so i think they're burgling you
