HELP>>>>
I have broken the remote off my Omega, at first after I locked the door, I could open it again with the key, the alarm would sound until I put the key in the ignition and turn on, I could then use the car as normal
NOW
On opening the door, the alarm sounds and will not go off unless I take the key from ignition and re-lock the doors
Any help would be appreciated whilst I wait for DVLA to send me the V5 (Just bought the car) and get it to a vauxhall dealer

Until you can get it sorted, reach round from the back door and lock the drivers door, this will lock the car without setting the alarm ;)
-
You will need to disconnect the powersounder to silence the alarm until you get your remote sorted, follow this link http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1220198611.As wellung said lock the drivers door from the rear door.Hope it helps.

There is a horn in addition to the power sounder which will still sound.
Easiest temporary cure is to lock by reaching in the rear door, IMHO.

You've not recently opened a key & lost the chip from inside have you? :-/

Don't really know. I have the remote but the battery has come away from the circuit board

Have a look! The chip lives in the horse shoe part of the key (this bit (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-CALIBRA-OMEGA-SIGNUM-SINTRA-BLANK-KEY-UNCUT_W0QQitemZ180461896688QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2a045e03f0)), nothing to do with the fob part. The chip is a separate rectangle-ish bit.
Is the management light flashing when you're cranking the car? If not ..... it's not the imobiliser :y
-
Yes....the management light is flashing all the time I crank the engine over, just looked at the KEY and there is no chip attached

You need to look where your key was first opened up, unfortunately not the easiest of things to find .... small & black :'( :'(

I think that this IS the problem, if I can't find this chip, what are my options, many thanks for your help

You need a new (new to you chip) reprogrammed to your key. Depending on where you are in the country, there are a few Tech II's that can do it ....aswel as Vauxhall (I dread to think what they charge)
I'd get your torches out & start looking :y :y :y :y

Thanks to everyone, I have now found the chip for the key, All I have to do now is buy a new remote and get it reprogrammed :)
-
How is your old remote damaged? Martin Imber on here does remote repairs ;)
-
If you REALLY need to use the car, you can tape the little chip to the side of the igntion barrel and then just use the key part.
Immobilisor will always be over-ridden so the car is not protected .. but it will be driveable.
As said .. Martin Imber repairs keys .. give him a PM .. :)

Point to note! You need the car pass card with the vehicle details on to have the tech2 done. My problem escalated when I did not have one, applied and paid for one at VX then when they tried to use it said the details did not match! Now you have found the key chip do what I did and glue the thing in with a bit of bluetac. Mine almost got lost too and that was my solution. Its never strayed since and is easy to pull out when its necessary.
