Recent cold snap, 30 on long runs

Same, in 5 years of ownership, fuel light has only ever come on twice.

Either you have too much money to think about risking it or ..... you're a wuss! ::) ::) ::)
-
Usually fuel light gets turned on around 1.75 gallons or around 6.5 to 7 litres.
The best consumpiton I got was around 44 mpg but that was really driving like an old lady.
Usually I get around 39 mpg on open road with low traffic now in winter(mine is a manual something between cd and cdx cause opel had slightly different specs) .

I have to go past a petrol station every time i take the car out, in the summer i could just squeeze 3 trips to Sky, recent cold snap can't, so end up filling it up after 2 days from 1/4 tank.

No idea about the 2.2 reserve light, but ever since I were a lad and started buying "pre-owned" cars, I've never liked the idea of allowing a 10 year old fuel tank to get that low.
All the accumulated dirt and crud, and in the "old days" rust, are going to sit in the last gallon .... why risk sucking it all into the pipework/filters/engine ???
You actually save no money, as you have to buy fuel anyway.

I wish i could get 39-44 mph :o :o :o .... do you drive downhill to get figures like that :-/ :-/

Nope just choose the roads with less traffic.
Actually there are downhils but also uphills on those roads.
But I always prefer open road with less traffic than highway.

If my memory of my times in Split are at all accurate .. it is NOT the flattest part of the world... I seem to remember some biggish hills off to the side near the airfield, and once you get away from the coast some impressive mountains .... :)
-
Didn't know you've been here Entwood.
I get those kinds of figures going from Split to Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Liked it here?

Many a "flying" visit, only the very rare night stop. Not been to Mostar .. but Split, Banja Luka, Sarajevo feature a great deal in my logbook. Odd visit to Skopje and Tirane.
38 years flying a military truck, I'm afraid the Balkan Crisis featured quite highly for a while .. :(

I'll never forget the time when I bought my dad a sattelite dish.
He has problems with standard tv remote.
But on this one he immediately managed to find the adult channels in the mix of 1500 programs ;D

My 3.0 has averaged 29.1 MPG over the last 7500 miles. Mind the computer milage travelled resets back to 0 instead of carrying on at 4000 miles.
