Title: Window weather strips
Post by: Ken L on 04 February 2010, 15:37:01
What are these like to remove and replace? I've got a bit of paintwork touching up/repairing to do on the top of the door at and under the rubber strip.

On the MK2 MR2 taking these of invariably broke the plastic clips, which are abot £1.75 each, and about 6 per strip. plus, little felt cushions came away as well.

I'm hoping the Omega ones are better...anybody?

TIA

You have to gently prise them out with a wide flat blade such as a scraper or similar.

Ease them out at one end and work along slowly teasing it up.....rush it and pull on one end and you will bend them!

Hi Ken , as Mark said they will pull off, when i got my Mig the nsf westher strip had a cut in it so pulled it off, got one from the scrappy and replaced it. I think they have a thin metal strip running the length of them as i remember having to re shape the new one untill it was flat then just place it back on the door and tap it home. Mine has been on for a few years now and had no problems with it, you would'nt know it has been changed.
