Sounds like they don't want the job....
If oil is flooding the plugs(???) surely its only the gaskets need changing!

I think you need the help of one of the mechanics on this site. I dont know who is your way but they will be better and cheaper than VX Garage.

sorry i didnt explain it very well and tbh im not very good with engines, but he said something like he doesnt want to take the spark plugs out because theres oil on top of them and if he takes them out the oil will go in? does that sound right? and thanks for the link :y i think if i try that i might have an even bigger problem with me being so ditzy lol ::) :-[

So what... Wont do any real harm... Just make it a bit smoky for a few seconds on start up ::)
I'd get my car out of that garage ASAP and call Darth Loo-Knee or Jamesv6cdx in :y :y
-
Contact Darth Loo Knee or one of the others on here.
They will do all the work for less than Vx charge for a cambelt change.
It sounds to me like it needs:
Breather clean
Camcover gaskets.
Not to big a job.
Clearly the mechanic is not upto much as its easy enough to use a syringe or oil sucker (which they have) to extract most of the oil first!
-
as said, if your cam cover gaskets are breaked they leak oil into the plug wells. No biggie tbh, just get as much out as you can and the rest will burn off within a few mins of starting.
I can highly reccommend Darth, good chap and knows what he's doing.

Sounds like the best thing to do!

So why doesn't the useless burger clean out the oil first so he can properly diagnose the problem instead of guessing. You could try complaing to the Service Manager.
Typical VX can't be bothered attitude, they seem to be more interested in keeping well below the set recommended job times so they get a higher bonus. That uis probably why any job that is likely to deprive them of that perk gets the back burner fob off treatment.
Best do as the others have said, contact one of the OOF guys and have them do it. At least that way you will be certain that it was done right and you will not have been ripped off!
Anyway, if it was leaking that badly there would have been an awful stink from the leaking oil and a cloud of smoke behind you.

-
they have probaly sucked all your power steering fluid out instead of the oil ? give daz darth vader a ring asap and he will sort everything out for you .dont worry he nows what he is doing {well most of the time} joking he is a great guy .good luck :D :D :y

I checked it and its full :( bloody vauxhall never ever ever recomend them in a million years and probably not even in that long :(. Yep Darth has been pm'd and i will await his reply :y thanks again every one i will let you all know what the outcome is, if worst comes to the worst i will be buying another ::)

Try turning the steering wheel from lock to lock a couple of times with the engine running, this will bleed the power steering.

Hi pete, just tried that on the way to work it's becoming intermitent (if thats how you speel it :P) and just an update to every one spoke to darth and all seems well again, just waiting on a few bits then I may be able to make use of the car i pay £2.5k insurance for :y lol

Hi,when I had the same problem as you regarding oil seeping into the spark plugs,I also just removed the plugs and let it drain into the bores,a little smoke on start up,no problem.
Anyhow,a much more simple remedy is get a syringe and some flexible tube, and suck the oil out of the bores, easy.
If you know a nurse, ask her to get you a couple of different syringes, they always have plenty.
Alfie.
