a little hobby in the new year, just been looking on ebay at the raleigh choppers mark ones, used to have one as a kid and i fancy doing one up, but the ones on there are already done.
Must be a MK1, not the MK2s or 3s, there were not the same bikes as the Mk1.

as a hobby then something like that is a great idea, i would hwever be inclined to broaden my horizons a bit to a few more of the 70's bikes, the chipper, grifter but to name two, they are not quite as popular but still can be good fun to rebuild and worth a few bob....
A lot of the grifters were cannabalised to make BMX's you could get a conversion kit that would do it, got through two of them and they made really good off road bikes......if a bit heavy!!!!!

I had a chopper as a kid too, i went to fast on it once, and because of the small front wheel it was´nt very stable, so inevitably i fell off and split my chin open, that was the last ride i ever had on a chopper :-/
