Hi Guys
My front rad fans are on constantly - at full chat. They only go off when the climate is switched off, (or to eco).
I'm presuming their speed is temperature controlled?
Last night, I did a 30 mile run and the top hose only just felt luke warm. I turned the fans off, and it soon heated up.
Any pointers? :y

Sounds like it could be a stuck fan switch, air con pressure switch or a duff relay. Do the fans behave normally without the climate on? I.E. stay off until temperature into the 90's then come on first stage?
What is the engine running temperature? Top hose temperature shouldn't be dependant on fans, TBH (bottom hose is a different matter).

Front fans should be on when ever the aircon operates

It appears all the fans are on mark - incl the rear rad one? (even first thing on a cold morning) when the aircon is on. :-/

3 fans on mine. two in front are on when the aircon/climate is on and the single rear one is temp switch controlled by coolant temp.

Sounds like the second stage aircon switch is shorted if they are all on flat out (as opposed to just the front two at half speed, which is normal, as said).

Someone - I think Richard A (but maybe wrong) sent me a guide (one page pdf doc) for diagnosing fan/switch problems. Maybe worth a pm? (I may have it on my home PC but not here)
