Basically the miggy has developed a strange issue when i start the car in the morning.
When i start the car there is a clunking noise between the two front tyres (the noise ncan be best described as the noise made when you bang two ceranic plates together) under the engine......
The whole car vibrates and the car goes off...
On second attempt...the car vibrates a little and starts normally and drives perfectly until next morning when the whole routines repeats again.
Just to give a little background the car was parked for the almost 80 days and i just started using it last week here in kenya...some roads are kinda rough....and tempratures always 30 degrees and above daily.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... i have used a code reader and no codes were found (There is an opel dealer here with TECH II, should be a last resort).

whats your coolant level like? does it drop and need topping up?
-
Coolant level ok...car temp seems ok.
-
i would invest in a 'cheapo tech2' from eBay which are around £30 (not sure on delivery to you though)
You need to get the codes read, sounds like a miss-fire. Most common problem on the 2.2 petrol is the cam sensor, but need the codes read to be sure :y

sounds like rust build up in with the oil, oil sit there on bottom, and the oil drips off the engine in side, then the damp rusts the engine from the in side, check cams may need a clean and a few oil changes, if not using the car for any time should just give a start ones a week just to circulat the engine oil and water, had same problem with engine sat in garage, had to clean it out a few times before putting in car, old oil dont help.
-
I was thinking sticky starter motor not disengaging when the engine first starts.
-
I have got a maxscan gs500....pretty basic but ok...showing no codes.
I had a new camshaft sensot fitted by vauxhall in November 2009...so i suspect problem is elsewhere...i suppose if problem persists i will go the tech II guys...but first i was an opinion from the forum members..they are the real experts :)

random thought, pop off the aux belt, and start the engine (but don't run for too long) - That will rule out anything aux belt driven (thinking alternator ect..)
-
Can you open the bonnet and go have a listen when its doing it - may help narrow down the location..

Dude, what do you smoke to come up with such utter drivel?

Will try this as well.......

problem still persists. I have just noticed the dipstick was not fitted back after an oil check. It was off for a few days, just fitted it back properly today. I also noticed the oil is filthy and needs urgent replacement.
Could the dipstick off cause this problem?

No, and do an oil and filter change also.

Thanks for your reply.
Perplexing becuase i took car to garage...they put it on ramp and had a good look under and nothing obvious...suspension,brakes,exhaust were all fine....they read the codes using TECH II.. no codes were found.
Start up is allways the same....ignite the car, makes an awfull noise....vibrates and switches off.
Starts perfectly ok on second attempt... Any ideas anyone ?
-
did you try taking the aux belt off, was it the same on start up?
-
So nothing odd when it is running?
Assuming nothing crawled into the engine and died ::) I would want to pull the starter motor out and check that it was free to slide in and out of engagement.

Have you tried this yet?

Not yet...will do it tommorow and see if it makes a difference.
Where is the starter motor located?
Also was driving a few hours ago and drove into a petrol station and filled up, a few seconds after i started the car the EML came on. Can dodgy fuel turn on the EML? There was no loss of power and the car did not get into limp mode. I will read the codes tommorow as it is already 9.30 pm here.

Oh well found a solution to the problem with the car.
Basically the car needed a service badly, mainly oil change, oil filter, petrol filter and the car is perfect.
When i start the in the morning it as good as gold. I am just surprised that miggys are really fussy about service and maintainance...
I will be changing the oil every 3,000 miles just for peace of mind.
Thank guys for all your help..... :)
