Started getting creaking from the front suspension over speed bumps in the morning, but after the drive back home (75 mile motorway run) and its all nice and warm it does not creak :-/

I have the same along with slight pulling to the right even though the tracking was done recently. New wishbones, drop links and brake disks for me next weekend :y

mines the same, or similar, put it down to cold oil in tired shocks, i have dtm pressed heavy duty bushes in wishbones. So not bushes imo...

M8s was the same before the test when a bottom wishbone ball joint was found to have a tiny bit of play. Changed it for him and the problem is now gone.
I reckon it must be when the ball joint moves the friction inside it causes it to maybe re-lubricate itself and maybe that is what stops the creaking temporarily until it cools down again.
Anyway, it worked for him. The ones he had on before the change to VX ones were the Delphi aftermarket ones and everyone knows what I think of that aftermarket stuff.
VX/GM for me every time, maybe a bit expensive but its less hassle in the long run.

Got a similar noise going on with my front suspension when sart and move away after car has been left over night.It sound less metalic more grooning and creaking so might have similar cure.
I bought new drop links and waiting for dry day to fit them,but might also do wishbones while at it just to be sure.
What price are the genuine GM units as found Delphi for about £45 each side which seemed pricey for non genuine parts.

Interesting, i was wondering what it could be as suspension componets don't really 'warm up' But leaving in he early hours hitting the pot holes and speed bumps, it really does crash about, but after a run, feels sooo much better going over the same bumps.
Will jack it up on and check for some play in it all :) :y

Just took youngest daughter to work...pulled off drive and first bump in road caused noise and continued on way to her work ..about 5 mins drive...parked up and had a chat with friend for a few minutes...drove back home exact same way so similar road conditions and not a noise at all ...seems to do it after stood all night in cold.....perhaps should build a garage for it !!!

Omegas are like us then, creaky in a cold morning, but once warmed up are better ;D

I,m creaky till about July !!..think wishbones are cheaper than building a garage though !

take a look at top quality suspension components such as ohlins, these days they have piggy back oil resrvoirs to keep the oil cooler during hard use. Certainly on bike suspension heat is generated as oil is forced through shim stacks as part of the damping mechanism, which causes heat and works the oil hard to the point a service is recomended to change the oil every 2 years on road vehichles with thier units, racing is a far more stringent service schedule.
Car shocks, i've no idea what the internal mechanism is but they have oil in them for damping, oil thickens when cold and thins when warm. I've noticed a firmer harsher ride during cold starts which improves during my comute. The creak does seem to go in conjunction with the suspension starting to "warm up" or become more compliant. New shocks will prove it one way or another. Just a theory, could be a number of things that creak though....?

Mine creaks over those speedbumps down Halse road in the mornings. Usually by the one at the end of your road, all creaking has gone. Defo from front end. Always done it, even though its on its 3rd set of shocks in my ownership, 2nd wishbones (which have also been rebushed a couple of years back).
Can't remember if I've changed the droplinks on this one, don't think I have. Not bad for 162k ::). Haven't changed antirollbar bushes either...
