Title: ABS ECU change
Post by: GaryBC on 26 February 2010, 15:05:17
Anyone know if the mounting screws are likely to be stocked by Vx?

I lost three when I took mine off and I forgot to ask the refurb guys if they supply. (I've sent it to http://www.ecutesting.com/index.html, by the way.)

There's a really useful How-To guide here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1152729807. I wouldn't have attempted the job without it!

Little tip (unless you have a never ending supply of sockets and torx bits). Attach some thin wire or string (or similar) to your tools so you can reel them back in when you drop them! 'Coz you will drop them!!

Thanks for the tips. Found the guide. The unit looks easy enough, just covered by a million pipes etc

re the op can you not get some replacemnts from a bolt supplier if you show the one you still have?

I'd still like to find out about the screws! And if I need to order them from Vx now so I have them ready for when the ECU come back.

That's always an option, yes. Plus I'm currently looking into using longer screws and spacers to make re-fitting easier. It's the bottom two I'm not looking forward to getting back in!

Be curious to know if anyone has tried anything similar and if it helps at all.
