Managed to source a whole driver's side mirror (only needed the black insert surround and glass, but seems they're harder to get hold of than a whole unit....) - so have the whole unit with frame and triangular plastic trim that sits on the door.
Should be here by the weekend...
I haven't had a chance to look around the old frame/wiring to see how it's removed (car is at my dad's at the moment), hoping you chaps might have some pointers as to how remove the old mirror/frame and fit the new one. It's probably not difficult, but a few pointes as to where the bolts and wiring is would help.... when I'm doing it I might take some photos and make a guide for the forum.... ;)
Cheers
Raf

take the tweeter of the door in side and should see the bolts, undo the bolts pull mirror off and disconnect the wire plug, when putting back on put some sealant on it stop any water getting in. :y tweeter just pops off.

NOT THE BOLTS!!! They hold the front of the window frame...
Door card off and tweeter then 3 phillips head screws and it'll drop off.

Not at all! Removing & replacing a door mirror is a 10 minute - max - job, assuming later facelift is the same as the older cars ::)
Didn't someone say though that Elite mirrors were different electrically due to the memeory pre-sets :-/ :-/ :-/

Well I've got a CD... so are the memory presets in the car ecu or the mirrors.... ECU surely..?
So.... is it a 10 min job... or doorcards off for the facelift? :D
-
It`s doable with the doorcards left on, just the bottom screw is a bit awkward. Done mine with an angled screwdriver
-
Did it today - no hassle at all - door card was a 20min job if that.... managed not to break the plastic strip either....
Thanks everyone!
