please please help, my omega has had this problem for a while once the car has warmed up it seems to struggle and jerk to accelerate I have replaced the egr valve, spark plugs and leads have ran all diagnostic tests and fuel tests all is ok any ideas ? oh there is a smell of fuel when i first start the car.

Sounds like fuel starvation, check the fuel filter for leaks. If the filter hasn't been renewed within normal replacement period, it defo needs renewing now IMHO. :y
-
is it easy and i don't suppose you have a step by step guide or a link for one
-
The 'fuel filter' is located under the fuel tank, offside rear, you need special 'pilers' to release the fuel pipe clips.
First place to start as owners don't tend to have them replaced (should be 40k/4years)
good luck

You don't need these - come undone easy with two small screwdrivers :y

but wouldn't the multiram come on under diagnostic check
-
if you smell fuel from exhaust ,could be missing on a cylinder which isnt igniting the fuel ,then as you have change plugs and leads did you check the dis pack aswell
could be that
-
What exactly do you mean by
'all diagnostic tests and fuel tests' ?

hooked it up to 3 different diagnostic machines and emissions tests all ok

hi all found out today that a dis pack will cost £140 ish and ive already spent about £300 trying to fix it any cheaper options other than dis pack
-
what makes you think its the DIS ?
-
seen some dis packs at £60, but look around and you can get a new one cheaper than you were quoted.
-
that just what people keep saying and to be honest i have no idea but I'm looking for any theories that could be backed up for me to try so please any one who reads this give thoughts

Might be a stupid question but are your plug wells are clean? ( no oil )
sounds more like a fuel or air problem, its not pulling air from somewhere is it? and is the pipe on your injectors fitted correctly. also check the fuel lines in the engine bay.
-
there is a bit of oil in one of the wells, and ive been thinking it might be fuel or air if it was the dis pack then it would do it always not just when its warmed up is that right?
