Sounds like fuel starvation, check the fuel filter for leaks. If the filter hasn't been renewed within normal replacement period, it defo needs renewing now IMHO. :y

The 'fuel filter' is located under the fuel tank, offside rear, you need special 'pilers' to release the fuel pipe clips.
First place to start as owners don't tend to have them replaced (should be 40k/4years)
good luck

if you smell fuel from exhaust ,could be missing on a cylinder which isnt igniting the fuel ,then as you have change plugs and leads did you check the dis pack aswell
could be that

Might be a stupid question but are your plug wells are clean? ( no oil )
sounds more like a fuel or air problem, its not pulling air from somewhere is it? and is the pipe on your injectors fitted correctly. also check the fuel lines in the engine bay.

there is a bit of oil in one of the wells, and ive been thinking it might be fuel or air if it was the dis pack then it would do it always not just when its warmed up is that right?
