Title: Elite Rear Springs
Post by: wingman on 03 March 2010, 19:02:43
The dreaded MOT is coming up soon and I need to check out my Elite Mig so that it is ready. One thing that is slightly worrying is that I heard a large bang from the rear of the car as I was parking it a couple of weeks ago. I am worried it may be a rear spring that has broke although on the face of it all appears OK with car (I have not had time as yet to have a good look underneath and also the weather has been foul)
Just in case I made a tentative enquiry with my friendly storeman at the local stealers who confirmed that Migs with self levelling suspension have a different part number for rear springs than those Migs without. If I do need a set I don't want to pay the exorbitant Vauxhall part prices, I looked at the prices for KYB springs which seem to be favoured on the forum. I couldn't seem to find a KYB part no for the springs for a self levelling Mig. Has any Elite owner on here fitted KYB's to the rear, can confirm that there is a different KYB spring for self levellers and if so knows the KYB part number?

Chrisgixer thanks for confirmation. The no in pic looks like RJ6227. If you get a mo can you confirm from any paperwork you have that I'm right. No hurry.

Just fitted new Boge ones from Autovaux £40 per side plus the vodka and tonic although they did quote £32 and promised to refund the difference and 4 weeks later haven't ... but the springs were ok

Thats interesting as ZF trading dont list a spring which supports self leveling.....

As for the KYB self leveling rear spring part number, it is:

RJ6227

Part number for ZF (Boge) rear coil springs for 3.2 V6 self levelling  is 25E490. When ordering make sure you get them to check spec against your reg number .

Mine have been on a year - no problems
