Pay day dictates a major VX service, cambelt and waterpump/antifreeze change.I've been quoted £478 and have booked it in. Going to get the fuel filter/pollen filter changed too which will take me over the £500 mark. I was kind of expecting this and seems ok?BTW the cambelt/pump/anti change is £309 on their own. Seems reasonable for main dealer? :-?

i'd PM Darth LooKnee or JamesV6CDX and get one of them to give your car a service, you can see it being done, and know its done right!
Be a damn site cheaper too! Full service on mine DIY, cambelt, aux belt, water pump, plugs, all filters, brake fluid, oil & filter change, anti-free. Sub £150-200!

:-?Well there is still time to cancel i guess. Get paid on 22nd and these things need doing. It's just who and where that needs sorting. Also this is probably in the wrong section too, sorry I was reading other stuff on here and posted a question.
Sub £200.....wow :oThanks for the heads up!

Get it over here, and I'd be more than willing to show you how to do it yourself - though I'm not around late March, and my own broken car has to take priority.
Cambelt kit, £60 for pattern. Pump, not sure, as GM ones gone expensive, should be good pattern ones available for £40?? Vx antifreeze, around £12-13
Unless its a nice day, we'll have to steal Tunnie's garage ;D

Ah, hell, 2.2. Even easier :y

I've just looked up James on his website and asked him to contact me. I'm not afraid of tackling it myself but things like cams just have to be right. I can be a bit slapdash on occasions ::)
-
Actually, with what I was prepared to pay out and what James charges I might just get that manky autobox oil changed too. He might be here some time if he can do it all....ooh just recieved an email from him...

garage here and can use it no probs :y
Not confident to fully do 2.2 cam belt myself, almost! But not quite...

So get it round, and we'll all go through it together.

I have quoted as requested, and am free around those dates -
However, if I were you, I would take up the offer of the local members, it's what the forum's all about :y

Yup, more than willing to lean more, garage here, as its bl00dy cold at the moment.
Can do Friday & Sunday this week, not sure after that, but drop me / TB a PM when you have some dates in mind. :)

Get the cambelt DVD from the shop in the time being, you will get to grips with how tochange one from watching it once or twice. :y

It's what I like about this site, information, advice and offers of help by the bucket load :)
James has made me an unbeatable offer and will be using him for the cambelt, service and autobox fluid change. That said, I can think of a few more jobs that need doing on my barge before the next MOT so that garage and local help will be handy. Tech2 work is most likely after the autobox is done.
Thanks guys for the help and advice, spot on that :y
-
After all of the above get done,Tech2 upgrades,A/C regas, two rear shocks,a front wheel bearing, two more tyres and a trip to WIM, it will feel like a new car. I will feel penniless.... but happy ;D ;D ;D
-
Notice I never volunteered to help changing autobox fluid. Boy do I hate that one ;D

There will be plenty of horrible, nasty, smelly ATF oil on the ground when you come to change your gearbox fluid ;D ;D
