been after one for ages, now seems like a good time to get one, not cheap from what i've seen, needs to fit through a spark plug hole, and be able to view the valves although cost may prohibit this function as i guess it will have to have direction control.
Looked into hiring, could almost buy one for the cost of a weeks rent.
Wouldnt normally post this here but TB s car needs sorting.

We have a Plan C now, thought I mentioned it in pub yesterday? Details still to be worked out.

I wonder if this would go down a plug hole :-/ it doesn't seem to give the probe diameter

10. It would be nice to see on the Specifications that the Optic Tube is 9.5mm approx. diameter throughout most of its length, but 16.36mm approx. diameter at the business end. i.e. not quite small enough to enter a 14mm spark plug hole, and also show the minimum focussing distance.

I read the tech spec but not the comments ;) :y

We use something similar to that on the loco and to inspect steam tubes and presure vessels.
It works very well but, the end would be to big to fit through a spark plug hole

right, did some asking around, found a serious piece of kit that has all the bells and whistles i'm told. Exchangable directable attachments...and i can borrow it... :y

Sounds like a plan..... ;)
Just so long as some unsuspecting bugger* does not get an uncleaned one inserted at some stage....
* use of sweary word specifically apt, I think....
[Those carbon crystals really itch (so I'm told...) ;D ]

seems to be the choice, fibre optic, or camera with screen. Only fibre optic seem to be able to turn around in the bore and look back up at the valves though afaict, and guess which ones are most expensive...
