I have a 2.5 elite automatic. the car has been running great until now. the problem is that when I'm driving along and have to brake the engine will just cut out and the engine management light will come on on the dash :'(. the car will start fine with the first turn of the key after this happens.
Has this happened to anyone else and how was it solved?
any help on this subject wold be great :y

paperclip it first to ascertain the fault http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1189022687

Firstly do a paperclip test on it (see link below my post) and report back any codes. Stands a chance you'll just need to clean out the IACV though which is a nice easy job.
Where abouts are you?

hey,
the car just done it again, its actually when the throtle is lifted that the car cuts out, I had thought it was while braking. the ecu light wont stay on long enough to take a fault code reading.
im really at a loss with this one, is there any chance that it could be one of the sensors??
again any help would be great??

PAPER CLIP TEST IT TO READ THE FAULT CODES :y
-
it doesn't show any faults with the paper clip test
-
the chances are the light will just flash while driving, good odds n sensor and code 82 or 64 will show if not both. Read the guide on paperclipping and post the codes. There are a lot of helpful members here but need more info to guide you in the right direction as to what to do to fix the problem.
edit: far to slow with my post

What does it show though? No flashes at all?
Where are you?
