Title: Lowering
Post by: adriles on 26 February 2010, 14:20:18
Hi,

Would someone know how I can make my mv6 sit perfectly level?

I think it would be 35mm lower at the front, 60mm at the rear.

I can order a standard 35/40mm lowering kit - then does anyone know where might buy/ find someone to make up the rears?

Any help much appreciated

Adrian

How old are the springs/shocks?

I won't be cautious lowering by much more than 30mm.  If its a proper retail MV6, it should already be lowered by 15mm, so cautious going beyound a further 15mm.

You will need to reset camber afterwards.

But sounds like you problem is a tired shock or spring. Or its ex-plod with HD springs...

Springs and shocks - no idea how old they are. I dont have any bounce/rebound problems though.

When I say I want the car to sit level - there is nothing wrong - just asthetically they all sit with their a*ses in the air.

Sorry for the late reply, i thought i would get a notification when someone replied.

Any further help on how I can lower my mv6 so its low and level?

Thanks

Adrian

You can lower it more than 30mm, but it'll eat tyres, probably tramline, wear out bushes, be a little harder on the steering components and handle generally worse, cos the whole supension geometry will change.

But your car - your rules! :y
