my mv6 has a miisface on cylinder 1, the plug well on that side was full of oil, so i changed the rocker cover gaskets and the ht leads, but it still has a misfire, EML is on and the only fault code i could get was something to do with the air con. what should i do next, change the coil pack?

Are you sure you read the code correctly. not teaching you to suck eggs, but may be worth looking again.

Your ok I'm kind of learning as I go along, I done it last week before I changed the gaskets, I done it a few times and it was 87, but I think I'll go check a again
Thanks

Thats how we all learn :y
What engine is it I'm assuming 3.0.
When you get a chance report back your codes and hopefully get your problem sorted ;)

Right just done paperclip test again, i'm getting code's:
87 A/C Cutoff Relay Voltage Low
49 Battery Voltage High
73 Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low
31 No Engine RPM Signal
I havn't a clue, what should i do now?

everything been reconnected after your gasket changes. if so try ditching the maf to see if it runs any better

Right I decided to change the coil pack and now there is no misfire and the car sounds pretty good, but still the eml is on, with fault codes:
87 A/C Cutoff Relay Voltage Low
49 Battery Voltage High
73 Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage Low
74 Mass Air Flow Sensor Voltage High
19 Incorrect RPM Signal
Changed the maf and still the same, the car is an auto and will only drive in first gear, I'm guessing this is because the eml is on and the car is in limp mode, am I right? so what should I do now? I have a full car of spare's so I can change anything...

19 = crank sensor.... needs changing as it will thow up loads of other faults .. and when it gives up your car will just stop ...... dead.
easy to change .. just important to get the right one ....

fiddly bit is getting your hands on the plug, scuttle off helps here . :)

Oh Thank you, I'll and do that tomorrow and hope for the best :)

I've changed the crank sensor the eml is still on, the fault codes are still the same plus two more:
21 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Voltage High
22 Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Voltage Low
What should I do now?? :( :-/

I still havn't got this car sorted, I would be grateful if anyone could help me.. Thanks.
