Title: 1999 Omega Elite 2962cc.
Post by: 205squadron on 25 March 2010, 14:52:09
This car runs lumpy on tick over. Runs well above 500 revs, was ticking over @ 600 revs. Have fitted new plugs, HT leads and a new Air Flow Sensor, but stil lumpy.
Can anyone help.

Change air filter and clean crankcase system out, then you will find it runs better. Have same car and year, made a load of difference! (see "how-to" on cleaning out)

As well as a full breather clean, check for:

air leaks on intake
sticky ICV
that the throttle butterflies completely close

Thank you for all your replies. A further development is since a new Air Flow Sensor was fitted the car will not start first time. Fires up but then stops, turn key again and engine starts straight away. This happens every time.
