Hi All,
I'm gradually working through the list of ailments on our ramshackle rally Omega but have one issue i'm not sure on. The clutch. It's not slipping but seems to have a very high biting point, obviously if possible i'd like to get away with not changing the clutch this year but if I have to I will. Is there any adjustment on these at all or is it all hydraulic? (The car is a few miles away and I don't have a Haynes manual yet)

No adjustment, its hydraulic.
high bite-point is usually when the linings are very thin or have been over heated and been baked hard so there is no 'give' left in them.
Check for slippage going up a steepish hill, wide throttle in 3rd or 4th puts the clutch under max torque so should show up any potential problems.

Thanks, I thought that may be the case :y. Will give it the hill test and see what happens. I think a change is in order as I don't fancy it letting go during our trip!

When i first bought my miggy the clutch bite was very high. 30,000 miles later my gearbox died on me, while the box was being swapped i fitted a new clutch. but looking at the old clutch there was at least 50k left on it.
Think my high bite was a hydraulic issue not a clutch wear one, but it lasted a long time before it gave out.

a high clutch bite can be due to hydrulic issues.
fill the master cylinder up to the top and bleed but keep the fluid topped up. an assitant is usefull.
