Title: Wheel Wobble
Post by: richard on 30 March 2010, 22:59:39
Evening all

2.2 2003 omega saloon 114K
Had the beast 3 years and its always had a bit of a wobble as I accelerate at about 50 mph and I lived with it, new tyres made no difference. Noticed lately that its now a bit worse and even more noticeable as I slow down at around 40 or 30.
Someone also said sitting in the car on tickover about650rpm it feels a bit wobbly.

Any thoughts

either failed wishbone bushes or wheel balance, the former probably, will need set up after replacement.

Agreed. that's about the speed range where an out of balance prop really excels.

Is the vibration there when coasting as well as when accelerating?

Does it have Alloy wheels if so someone before you might of hit a kerb or pot hole and put a small buckle in the wheel itself. :y
