nothing wrong with original parts for brakes infact i would recommend them for such a heavy car

a friend of mine his car, has started to do that, i am thinking it is with brake abuse as his nephew drives everywhere at 120mph and the abs ecu is faulty.

ditto ..........new discs AND pads - vx parts should be ok.  I have fitted pattern parts in times gone past and lasted about 6 months - as the saying goes, 'you get what you pay for' :y :y

Not a good idea mate - change discs and pads in axle sets (pairs) - use only genuine Vx for fronts - buy kit 2 x discs + 2 x pairs of pads around £80 on TC.  Pattern front discs wont last and will warp quickly!

just done same job yesterday, parts where just over £50, and arrived within 20 mins of placing order, half hour later they where on job done.
Not VX, but sold car very cheap due to high mileage, so they will do the job. car is sold and going tomorrow.
On better spec and mileage and priced cars, would use GM gear tho.

Any Vx dealer, get a trade card from ABS - £20 .. or pm andyc on the forum .. he is a parts manager and does TC prices .. but you have to pay postage obviously .. :)
