My car has suddenly developed a major coolant leak...  its not the head gasket because the oil is still black..  it only leaks when the car get hot, a water is coming from near the gearbox.. can see from underneath..

Have a feeling a pipe is split on the way to the heater matrix..  please help with a step by step if poss...

 cheers all

Edit: If your oil really is black, I would suggest you change it sooner rather than later! ;)

More likely to by the miggy curse; the HBV (heater bypass valve) that site at the rear of the engine, which commonly fails every so often.

Awkward to replace, cost about £40, but can soo be done. ;) ;)
