a mate of mine has a 2.2 petrol auto miggy with a factory fitted gas kit ( ex police car ) :y
every now and again, it throws up a bit of a fanny fit ;D
driving along normally and then, just for a few seconds, it will start to run sh*t then clear its self and of it goes :(
yesterday, we stuck it on his box of tricks ( snap on pro ) and cleared a couple of codes
these are from memory
p 1700 canbus service ?
p 1550 throttle position ?
car drove normally for a few hours then he stopped
came back out a hour later and now the car refuses to start >:( >:(
not had a chance to go and recover it yet
anybody come across this one ??
anybody got any serious ideas ???
-
sounds like it could be the old 2.2 cam sensor with no really relavent code issue.
-
we know the trottle body and breathers could do with a clean
would that make any differance to the codes ?

Should get rid of TPS code. Car will still start eventually with failed cam sensor

from the TC site...the 2.2 uses:
Camshaft sensors
2.2 90520850 £70.50 £63.56 £54.86
nowt on the 2.0, checking EPC....
-
apparently, although not listed for 2.0 omega, that is used on
X20XER
X20XEV
Y22XE
Z22XE
So you may be in luck :y

right, only code stored relates to the gearbox ecu selector ?? ( can't remember the number ) :-[
speaking to a lad who drove it last week, apparently he had trouble getting it to start but cured it by moving the gear selector up an down the gate a few times :-/
so we are now looking at the selector switch ??
opinions please ??

Remove it, give it a clean and reset it http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1267956397

Cam sensor can cause 1700 code :y
(search in here on cam and 1700, 1 per thread, since beginning, many many hits)

Guys My suggestion for what its worth is to c;ean the Throttle Body and the Breathers. I had a similar issue with my 2.2 and as soon as we cleaned the Housing and the Breathers with some Carb Cleaner the Car was as perfect
-
looks like we have 2 faults here :'(
1st one looks like the selector ( now i know about it playing up last week )
2nd one ( intermitant fanny fit ) will strip and clean the throttle body and breathers and see what happens :y
if that does'nt cure it the its cam sensor time :y
cheers too all
