Afternoon all! :y
As I've not yet had a chance to sort out the door locking motor on the miggy - and as such my dad is getting a bit upset that he sometimes (regualrly!) sets off the alarm when getting into the car (he's forgetting to use the central locking and THEN manually open the door.... he just opens the door).
So just wondering if the post in the HOW TO section about disconnecting the Power Sounder is what I'm looking for.... ?
Why is it called a Power Sounder? Isn't it the alarm?
Hope I'm on the right track.... :-X
Thanks everyone... :y

Yep
Yep or to be more precise it`s a backup siren. Next to the powersounder sits the alarm horn which activates if the car is tampered with. The powersounder will activate if someone tries to cut power to the alarm i.e. disconnects battery. If the fob is not going to be used you need to disconnect powersounder and horn to silence the alarm but you will still activate the hazard flashers until key is inserted in ign and car started

Thanks Rob - so if I follow the guide, I'll have access to the powersounder and the horn I guess is just unclipped in the same way as the power sounder?
If I unclip the horn before the powersounder... I'm guessing the alarm won't go off for 5 mins ... (as per the how2 guide...?)

Anyone help on this one.... might get round to doing it today....

Until you sort out central locking motors (alarm will always go off if door opened with key, rather than remote), unplug both powersounder and alarm horn, both mounted side by side under scuttle area.
Power sounder needs to be unplugged within 15s of turning of ign.
Hope that heklps

Thank you mate - all makes sense and explains why the alarm goes off all the time if my dad dosen't use the central locking on the key.
But I'm not sure what you mean by the bit about 15sec after ignition off....... is that so the alarm doesn't go off for 5 minutes after unplugging the power sounder? :-?

Yes! :y

Righto - got it!! Thanks! :y
So basically get under the scuttle, get the power sounder out and horn out (still connected...) .... when all is ready, turn the ignition on..... then turn it off.... sprint to the front and unplug both......
Is that right so my ears won't bleed? Horn on Power sounder first?

horn dont matter, unplug at your leasure. Just the PS within 15s ;)
