Nearside windscreen washers packed up on Estate. Probed with a pin and now clear but very little water coming out and at low pressure. Drivers side all ok. Any thoughts? - all pipes on ok on n/s and no obvious leaks/splits/holes.

Fixed mine for MOT just before I sold it after suggestion from someone on here. Clean the rubber grommet that the pump sits in. Works a treat :y
There is a guide in the maintenance section. :y

fit insignia jets, couple of quid each. Fan shaped spray on them.
pants scratch that, they are face lift only.

Presumably drivers side OK? That would point towards passenger nozzle still partly clogged.

Yep Jaime drivers side ok - n/s feels clear by probing and fluid coming out both jets at lower pressure - just reaches screen altho jets set high.
Thanks Scottie - will have a look next weekend.

Scottie'a answer is if both washers are pants ;) Do you have access to an air line to blow the sh1te back from the nozzle? I know that doesn't clear it from the system, but it gives you a starting point. Have you had a look at the under side of the washer while it's spraying? One of my Senator's washers (same part) had rotted & was loosing as much water underneath as it was trying to spray on the screen. :-? :y :y

There is also a common problem with the filter on the pump blocking up. has been mentioned to . pull the pump out as it is fitted in a rubber bung, clean the filter and rinse the tank in the process.

Doubt it will in this case as one jet is working fine. If the filter on the grommet was blocked, the two jets would be affected as the filter serves both jets. Seeing as it's so easy to do, may as well give it a clean all the same.
That cured my weak washer jets issue, but it's back again so I suspect I need to flush out the water bottle itself.

So which is it, both low pressure or one good and one weak ?
It's starting to sound like a combination of a partially blocked filter and n/s jet.
Maybe cleaning the filter will sort it out after all. :y

Yes - dry underneath

As said above both n/s jets low pressure, both o/s jets ok

Ah right, of course, I was thinking of them as the n/s - o/s washer outlets, not the two individual jets on each. :D
