Title: Creaky squeaky B pillars
Post by: megaomega123 on 26 April 2010, 22:07:31
My drivers side B pillar has always been a bit creaky but now the passenger side is doing the same. It is only on bumpy surfaces and jolty braking and acceleration.
It's very annoying but I can't replicate when not driving to be able to pinpoint the source.
Any ideas from experience?

Do you mean the door's creaky? If so the door striker plate needs adjusting, on the pillar.

Had the same with mine, a bit fiddly getting it perfect but that was the problem. :y

I am not sure it is the same thing as I recently followed the cabin noise reduction how to. All plates have been adjusted and I would consider spot on. The noise seems to bee higher up the pillar, where the seatbelt comes out, so it is right in my ear >:(

Are you sure it isn't the door locking pins rattling? :-/

Its the rubber round the door that is more than likely to blame. I sprayed some silicone spray on the door rubber and it cured it.
