Title: General question car sat for a year

Hi all on sat I'm buying a 2.5 v6 elite which has been sitting for a year or so and have had a hood look round and it started first time when on leads but brakes are rusted and need new pipe to something which is on rh side next to multiple ram.I'm guessing it's an air pipe but not sure anyways I need new plugs and leads I'm guessing but which ones and where from and anything else anyone can think of I might need after it sitting for while?Oh it's done 68000 and belt looks brand new

condition of tyers inner walls sills behind plastic if you can get at it had one a few years back more holes than swiss cheese lol

68000 miles? Very little for an Elite, if it's genuine you could have a brilliant buy.

Deffo genuine mileage got paperwork for it all.it's on by an old guy it was his sons but sadly the son died and been sitting on his drive ever since.I knocked his door and asked and he yeh take it so paid £300 and collect sat.getting very exited!

Don't take the visual condition of the belt as Gospel. If there is no paperwork or sticker showing when the belt/tensioners was last replaced, you would be wise to renew them. Better safe than sorry/  :y

Well for 300 quid you can't have gone too far wrong. :) Id check all the brake calliper pistons and front floating brackets all opperate correctly as they can seize without use. You can probably tell if that has happened as the car will pull to one side when braking. As its been sat for a year Im guessing it has no MOT, so  as trainman said tyres and condition of sills. :y

yep.. dont trust the condition of belt , tensioners mostly go first ..
