Title: td gearbox update

Has anyone had the gearbox ecu updated on a tractor(2.5td) if so was there any difference in dropping 2 gears going uphill. :y
not to bothered about economy getting about 54mpg breifly on a flat bit off motorway at 55 (lol) normal 26-37mpg ::)

Are you asking if the update can cause it to drop two gears or if it cures it?

TB updated mine with Tech2, and it certainly does not change quite so eagerly on accel.  Check here: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1265029420

OK, for those watching this thread, lets see who can work out the fundamental error in hoofingit's gearbox ECU change.

He changed the ecu in his 2.5TD for an ecu from a 2.5v6, yet it made no difference whatsoever, still acted the same, and the changepoints unaffected....

I'll post another clue up later :y

my gearbox was also changing down 2 gears when i put my foot down, but i found out the problem last thursday,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the gearbox died, i was left with 1&2 & reverse :'( :'(

Wanna buy an AR25 ;D - dirt cheap if you come and remove it yourself ;D

no thanks TB, i bought one just for the bellhousing & T/C as i couldnt find a knackered one, i already had an AR35 which i got for £30, low miles on it too, so that should last me perhaps a few weeks the way i get through them,,,,& please dont tell me you are breaking a TD ;)
