Anyone know the GM/VX part number for the aux belt tensioner bearing for a v6?
I suppose any bearing stockist would probably have one too if I had the relevent size and type?
Sounds like jet engine with its high pitched whistle, and yes, it is the aux belt tensioner bearing in question that is causing the noise. ;D

The bearing is moulded into the middle of the plastic roller. You'd have to remove the retaining lip from the plastic to get the bearing out. I got a bearing from work, intending to do just that, but decided I'd break the roller trying to get the bearing out.
6202 IIRC .... I'll try to dig the bearing out from my tip of a garage later to check. ;)

Just stick a new pulley on :y
Have you tried packing it with grease to see if you can quieten it down :-?

Thanx all!
Got bored on Sunady so whipped it apart and re-packed it with graphite grease. Took me all of 20 mins and now its silent again. ;D :y
Cannot understand why they put so little grease in to start with (unless its to sell more when they become noisy)? There again its an old VX/GM trick!!!!!!!
:D
