Is there anyone in Norfolk on here with a TechII? I need to find out what's triggering the alarm - guessing it's the bonnet switch as it tends to go off when the sun is shining on the bonnet, but would like to check before I start disconnecting things.

its that easy to prove, id disconnect the bonnet switch anyway..wont take long to prove it was that.

But in answer to your question... No. The nearest Tech 2 to you will be either The Boy in Brackley or Mark DTM in Nottingham.
Depends where you live in Norfolk but I'd say there's probably not a lot in it

Not sure. It's a horn sound which goes for about 20secs with the hazards flashing for a further few minutes.

I THINK thats yer Powersounder. Most of us disconnect that at some point in the Omegas life.
Doesn't affect the alarm, tis just a PITA.
Its hidden under the corner of the scuttle, drivers side.

Not sure. It's a horn sound which goes for about 20secs with the hazards flashing for a further few minutes.
That is the alarm then, not just a powersounder fault.
I would just try the bonnet swith (and if its an estate check the connectors are fully pushed on to the rear break glass sensors)

Its fixed to the power steering reservoir

bonnet switch most likely. Unplug for a few days to prove.

Cheers all :y I seem to remember seeing a post once where one of you guys had bodge repaired it with some sticky pads. Would I be right in thinking the fault is caused by wear in the switch spring which is then triggered by the bonnet expanding under heat? I can't find the post now - blasted search! ;D

more likely bent bracket. But see if unplugging cures first - its an Omega, nobody is going to nick it ;)

I beg to differ, the V6 makes for a very large, strong get a way vehicle or could be usefull in a smash an grab. PLUS the cops would think that not even a criminal would be daft enough to steal one SOOOO that makes it the perfect car to steal and drive around undetected. If the joyriders hear a cop car approaching all the thieves need to do is stop, open up the bonnet and stand there scratching their heads.
Knowing Omegas as most of the cops do, they'll just zoom on by, feeling sorry for another poor Mig "owner."
