Title: Air shocks
Post by: MickAP on 30 April 2010, 20:40:54
Would these be easy to fit, to replace the standard shocks on my TD estate.

And should they keep the rear pretty much level when I have the caravan attached.

Are they a good price? they look like Monroe

Mick ;)

Hey Mick,
i fitted Omega estate airshocks(169 on tc) with a manual schrader valve fitted in the back(easy to do) so i can set them for what ever load i have in the back, very worthwhile mod especially as i fitted irmsher rear lowered and uprated springs , the airshocks  compensate for the lower springs a treat!!
car handles very well no matter what oad i have in there! :y

Looks like a reasonable price considering that selfleveling shocks are £150/pair on TC.

Fitted 'em on mine Mick :y

Looks like these are the updated version of the Monroe Ride-Levellers that I got.
Superb with the caravan on the back mate - you'll wonder why you never fitted 'em sooner ;)

Just passed MOT so the shocks are ok according to them. But it feels a little bouncy on the rear now, like the damping effect is not all there, but ok for the tester.

Rather spend a little more and get these as opposed to standard shocks, being as I will be towing :y

I also fitted Grayston Coil Assisters into the coils at the same time.
Helps take the 'unsprung' load off the shocks.

Whole set-up works a treat! :y

Had some of those fitted to my previous tow car (Primera estate) did a good job, if a little firm when not towing :y

hi
I`m also thinking of buying this kit but was wondering what you actually get and is it easy to fit and set up?
Any info would be a help as I dont want to end up wasting £190
Thanks

Yes, the particular ones featured here are only for estates.

Saloon shockers are different - I had 'em on my former car.
Try doing a search! :y
