Alright so just replaced my MAF sensor (as had low voltage code). Got on from ebay now the light has gone out, but it's back to really lumpy Idling and stalling again!
Can anyone suggest best place to gat a MAf from is? Second hand on here or genuine Vx?

Was the one you got off Ebay S/H or aftermarket that you fit the sensor inside your MAF housing.?
Also have you cleaned your ICV ? See the maintenance guide on here.
Lastly, have you tried running the car with the MAF disconnected.? What happens?

one off ebay was aftermarket but complete with housing. Runs smooth and fine with MAF unplugged, or with old MAF in showing EML and code 73!

I bought a S/H one and it was no better than the one on the car. Then bought off Ebay the sensor part only. came to £38 approx. The MAF has worked fine since.

Likewise for both Elites (paid £30 each) no probs since.

You pays your money & takes your chance. ;) I bought a MAF sensor only for my Astra shed TD, all was well for a few weeks before it died ::). I bought another complete with housing & so far, so good. It's been on for a couple of years now :y

tried 2 ebay ones now from different sellers, both cause same probs. really lumpy tickover / stalling! revs range anywhere from 300 - 1500 (all over the place) or just stalls.
Again runs fine without MAF plugged in so am assuming they are naff MAFs.
