I think my sterring idler is completly knackered now its been wondering whilst braking for a while now i have a knocking all the time when going over any bumps what is the best one to buy and where do i get one from?
-
Get the steering idler from here
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vauxhall-Steering-Idler-Arm-110mm-9195731-Omega-Carlton-/200464525151?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eac9de75f
there are cheaper ones but they tend to be rubbish. The knocking is more than likely drop links but they are quite cheap and easy to do.

Cheers thanks for all your help

make sure it's the same length as the old one - there are at least two different lengths - having a different steering setup on one side of the car only has not proved to be beneficial to the handling.

I went to do mine this weekend I found it easier to prize the large rubber end downwards to free it off then wedge a socket between the steering arm and chassis and knock the idler upwards of the ball joint when I went to fit my bnew one from vauxhall parts on the web the balljoint hole had been machined to big so it slopped about on the ball joint
