Just been told my 95 2.0 16v GLS has failed it MOT on a fair few items, not sure if I shall get rid or fix yet.
Emissions has reared its ugly head yet again, apart from the Italian tune and cleaning of idle control Valve and associated parts (its had new sparks as well) is there any other way of reducing the emissions? I would rather not buy yet another cat for it, I did a search but was unable to identify a topic that helped.
And to top it all off the radiator failed as they were carrying out the MOT, does anyone know what the part number might be and how much I would have to pay?
I have also got to replace various brake hose parts.

I've had a number of cars that have failed exhaust emissions & my mechanic's 1st port of call is to use a cleaner unless of course its the lambda sensor :-?
U cud try ebay for the exhaust cleaner - 'Cataclean Catalytic Converter Cleaner' reduces emissions @ £14.99 :y
As for the radiator, if its leaking i swear by 'K-Seal' cos its f*kin brilliant!! :)

Just picked up the car, friendly garage, recommended I try cleaning the brake pipes lightly to see if its only surface rust!
The radiator has a split in the plastic on the n/s on the rear side, running longways along the curve from the rear to the top, I am wondering if I can get a plastic weld done on it rather than replace the radiator.
I have used Dog Turds in the past for temporary sealing of radiators, but not the K-Seal stuff, does it work on the plastic part?

Guaranteed to bung up ANY hole (don't drink it tho :D!!)
Not sure about plastic cos K-Seal has thousands of tiny metallic particles that bond itself to the hole or split.
Best bet is to type in 'K-Seal' on Google & go straight to the site (its made in America) & see wot it says.
Good Luck :y

Regarding the emissions issue... mine failed last year on emissions and i added a bottle of Forte Injection Cleaner and did the italian tune up the night before the retest. Passed the next day. Best £15-99 i spent for a while. Since then ive had DLK do my breathers etc and with regular oil changes it sailed through this year. :y
