Hi all on my drive home tonight a problem started with the exhaust,a ver raspy sound started and over 3000revs dust comes out!can anyone help?I'm guessing it's the cat but hoping not!the last box on exhaust has a small hole if that helps! :y

by dust do you also mean stuff like 'horse hair'? Sounds like baffles have collapsed

Haven't seen any hair but sounds like it!from where on the exhaust do I replace then?

Impossible to assess without seeing it. Easiest way to find fault is to start the car with the handbrake on and get someone to lightly rev the car so that you can see/hear where it is faulty. Don't know about other models but on the V6 water drips from the LHS rear half shaft when driving in rain and on to the exhaust and gradually causes a 3 to 4 inch rotten gash in the top of the exhaust pipe. The silencers usually last longer than this bit of pipe, assuming it is mild steel.
You really need to lay down by side of car and look/listen underneath.
