To me that sounds like the HBV (Heater Bypass Valve)...not an uncommon issue on the Omega's.
I've never had this issue myself, so can't advise any further, and I may well be mistaken...but that sounds like it to me.

about an hour, plus another 5 mins to put the plasters on!  ;D ;D
Off wipers, off scuttle panel, out with the wiper motor assembly - careful of you driver's wing paint. It's there to the side-ish of the brake servo, 3 hoses & a vacuum pipe on top.

To add to what Andy and Josh said, there is a 'How To' in the Maintenance section of the Forum. :y

I know where you are coming from Andy. Don't do my knees any good either, kneeling on the landing panel. Good job it doesn't hurt your knuckles when you pull the hoses off ::) ::) :'(

If still dripping from rear of engine and you have fitted a new HBV then it could be one of the core plugs, think Jimbob had this problem a while back.
