A few weeks ago I had my system regassed and came out of the garage reception to a very cold climate in the car.The next day when I tried it out the system produced air with a slight chill from the air vents,on further investigation I realised the compressor was'nt kicking in,been back today and the out come is they degassed the system for safety reasons he said to allow the compressor issue to be investigated. I must confess I am now a little uncomfortable. On comeing away, and on reflection I couldn't get any straight answers to obvious queries, only vague responces. I am now gratefull I did'nt leave Miggy in their care. Is there anyone on the Forum who has had experience of Air con and can help me 1st of all can the compressor be tested? Taking it off is no big problem for me.I just can't forget the system seemed to have worked 100% when I payed them and drove away, and the compressor looks mint,in fact the whole system carries no trace of leaks or staining and appears in good condition my suspicions are pointing me to a disconnect or a failed connection. Is there not a ECU so is it a programming job

take it to an ac specialist. Could be a leak not found or connections to the pump. Moneys on leaking condensor, did they look up between the condensor and radiator?

OK, Chris will do,but will find another specialist, and no they didn't seem to do much looking. I know about the green leak tracer dye I'll have another good look myself. I did a check before I took it for regassing. Thanks Chris will let you know how I go on. :y :y

To check compressor clutch (in situ), disconnect electric plug and put 12v across compressor terminals (maintaining original polarity) - if cluch ok you will hear it engage with a quite loud thud. No sound clutch breaked. Usual problems with these compressors is either seized clutch or bearings.
