Hi there. I am now finally driving my car having completely redone the top end. It drives lovely, although needs tracking and wheel balancing doing. What I would like to know is can the tickover be adjusted from the standard 500 -550 rpm to something like 650 - 700 rpm? Without reprogramming the ECU? Thanks

No. But why would you want/need to? ;)

Mine actually ticks over at 500rpm and it's a little bit lumpy, I am confident that it would not stall at that level but it's a bit sweeter at 650rpm, plus I've never had a car with such a low tickover.

Try cleaning out your idle air control valve, there's a maint guide on it. That should help :y :y

Alternative answer: yes. - Switch the A/C on.

too many andys round here to keep up. :)

If it feels lumpy with A/C off, you should investigate it, rather than hide it. Or turn A/C on ;D
Only possible to raise rpm via tech2. Don't be tempted to do via butterflies - it will be lumpy as hell.

tracking is no good either, needs full geometric set up after rectifying any suspension issues, dont fit new tyres until then. 5 stud balancer is more accurate than the usual cone balancer, if your having balancing issues.
