Well just calculated my gas mpg, i got an average of 19!
Now this a rough calulation as some of the miles i did where on petrol, i have to say though, that the driving i did was errrr very, very 'sprited' on gas ;)
Gunning it away from most junctions, lots of stops and starting to make sure the idle was was fine, and was ok on sudden stops.
Its also damn cold at the moment!
I have re-filled it tonight, and going to drive normally and not such a lead foot!

Can I have a go in it?
I promise I won't turn the TC on :P

OOOOOO I MUST try this LPG lark sometime ;D

I take it you Know how he Drives then ;D ;D

That means you're driving a V6 nearly 2 tonne Auto, ragging it, and getting near to equivilent 40mpg cost wise. That's with a crappy mixer system that's not even set up properly.
Can't be bad :y
-
With all your chats about LPG, I am getting tempted. I don't do enough miles in the miggy for it to be worthwhile, but if I did upgrade from the miggy (not soon) I might consider getting an Audi with a 4.2 since those are getting cheaper and putting LPG on it. ;)

Yeah, all the V8's are all quattro. S4 and new style A8 are getting down towards £15K. Road tax is bad enough, but the mileage would ruin me if not on LPG.
The Quattro is a completely different beast. Had an '83, great car! Unfortunately just to old now even as a second/project car otherwise is exaclty what I would like to have next to the miggy.

Actually, Tunnie drives like a grandad. Or at least did until I corrupted him (according to Mother Tunnie), hence my offer to 'test' the car ;)

I'm getting jealous now :( :(
after 5 years of LPG, averaging 45-50 MPG cost equivelant
now putting £40 a week into a 1.1 fester
probably on about 45 BHP and i'm thinking of loosing 5 BHP off that by putting my mixer system on it ;)

Too late! ;D
With Snow predicted tommorow, i thought it my duty to test the tracton control!
I took it to the same bit of road you tested your 2.5 project, backed it in, car angled up high. Then floored it, TC light flickered on and off. I did it a few times to make sure! ;D
I am going to be good for a few days, see what i can get it to run at. My 2.2 was averaging 26 with spirited driving to work, if i can get 23+ i would be dead chuffed with that. Means i can get almost 50mpg on gas!

TC OFF?? in an auto.... in Snow?? i'll have no control... braking would be an issue!
I think the snow is suppoed to come in the afternoon, but its its snowy tommorow, i'll be taking the 2.2 manual.....
-
Beginners I can get 15mpg on MID without resorting to towing, but this does involve redlining, and I think it is slightly better than that due to injector adjustment values.
I suppose the bust exhaust and the lovely V6 sound getting out are provocative

Whimp, I will be using the MV6 - wide tyres for minimal grip in snow and ice.....

I am known at work for commuting in the Westie when it's 'kin cold, chiefly because it's in the garage and I can't be @rsed to scrape frost off the Omega. Not sure about tomorrow though. Snow is a bit scary. :-/

Saying that, the tractor lacks any grip at the back.
Mrs TheBoy was suitably impressed (read furious) at my driving sideways between junctions around MK shopping centre just before Christmas when I lost my rag....

Last time in the snow, i touched the brake, big mistake!! car slid all over the place.
To slow a car in the snow.... i was doing say 20/25mph.... put it in first, pull up the clutch, the car slows, to around 10mph without using the brake pedal... speed up with gas, dip the clutch and bring it up again to slow!

Never thought about using the snow button and using the shift for 1,2,3 Tunnie :-/
