Title: Fans not coming on properly
Post by: Sir Tigger KC on 31 May 2010, 20:00:03
After abit of a run yesterday, I stopped at the shop and was in and out.  Got back in turned the ignition on and the temp was at 100!! :o :o I could hear the fans running so started up and sure enough the temp dropped back so headed home.

When I got home I turned the engine off and could hear fans running, but when I turned the ignition off the fans stopped, when I popped the bonnet I saw that it was only the fan at the rear running and not the two at the front!

Any ideas peeps?

sounds about right if all fans going can flatten the battery as draining just to cool down rad.

pretty sure it's the single rear fan for aircon. The front two can run slow or fast which would suggest that they're both for engine cooling.

Until recently, all three fans worked.  Now its just the rear fan working and only when the ignition is on.  :(

So when I turn off after a run there's nothing cooling the rad and its getting hot!!  :o Its a new rad and I don't want it to go pop!!!  >:(

I've checked the fuses and all good, could it be a dodgy relay?
