I have recently bought an MV6 which is the same colour as my Elite and has an Irmscher kit fitted. I am going to transfer the kit and the doors to my car as they are in excellent condition but I am also considering swapping the suspension. Is the MV6 suspension much stiffer than the Elite or should I just swap the springs to lower it.
Your thoughts please.

Depends the mileages on each car I guess.....
-
its the shockers that lower the mv6 bud my front ones are knackered and have a elite sat in my back yard that im stripping but they are no good !! ;D
-
The rear shocks on my Elite are weeping a little and will need replacing for the next MOT.
What I dont want is a rock hard ride, I dont drive at warp 10 and the Elite suspension is comfy enough, although you do feel the bumps more since fitting the MV6 alloys.

if you are fitting shorter springs then you should fit shock absorbers that are suited to that spring.
Reason being is there is a risk that the shocker could 'bottom out' whilst going over bumps as it has a shorter range of travel.
I would imagine that the MV6 suspension would be slightly harder than you have already, but then it would depend on the mileage that the car has travelled

i thought the MV6 suspension was very similar to the Elite, springs are the same but different shocks i think?
Are the MV6 shocks self leveling like Elites?

Thats a thought, I will go and have a look.

I wouldn't say the MV6 is rock hard. Yes, you do feel the bumps a little more through the suspension but it's not like a stiffly-sprung small FWD car by any means.
It's also nicely taut through corners without too much roll. I'd say, on a smooth road, you'd barely notice a difference but on a poor road surface you'll feel a few more jolts. It won't rattle your fillings loose on any surface.

Thats one big problem around here, they've been mining the salt for years and the roads salt still comes from just down the road so subsidence is a big problem :(

I have driven Jaimes MV6, i was very suprised at how soft the ride still was.... as Kevin says you do feel the odd more bump. Seams to be more noticable at lower speeds, higher speeds you just fly over them 8-)

Im suprised ive not been pulled for drunk driving, since ive had the MV6 alloys on im weaving all over the road trying to miss the pot holes ;D
