Hello!
My speedometer light hasnt been working since i bought my car and today i decided to have a look at it.
I took the panel out to hopefully just change the light bulb and discovered that there are 3 other "fault" lights missing and the speedometer light bulb was ok. So i got the other lights from autoparts store and fitted them to see both if the seller was trying to hide something from me and if the speedometer light will come on (i thought that it may be chained to one of the missing lights and as the electrical chain was broken it didnt work).
It didnt help :(
there is another thing that might give out some clues:
Both the speedometer light and automatic gearbox (the one that shows which gear im on) are linked to headlights. The gear light is on while the headlights are off, but goes off as i turn the headlights on. I guess that its not the way it should be.
What else could i try to get my light back on?
Its quite annoying to drive around with one of those book reading lights attached to my panel :D

iirc there are two or three bulbs which light the speedo and rev counter between them.
Is the dashboard dimmer working correctly? Gear selector lights etc should be on full normally and then follow the dimmer when sidelights are switched on.

Yea, i think there were 2 lights lighting speedometer. none of them works and the bulbs are ok.
All the other lights are working fine (handbrake, long distance light indicator and all others i could turn on)
I just checked the dimmer - it isn't working at all.
And - yes, the gear lights really go off as i turn the headlights on.
Can replacing of the dimmer help?
