hi sorry if this is another noobie question, but the gear selector in my man 2.5td is sloppy as sin and was wondering if i could get it to tighten up a little but i don't know what gearbox it will have in there. could someone shed some light and poss point me in the right direction.
many thanks.

I've always thought it was the R25 for everything except the 3.0 and 3.2 that had the R28. That's just from memory, so may well be wrong.
I've found all manual Omega's, even low mileage one's to have fairly sloppy gear knobs...in gear you can wiggle them about a bit...but again that can be found on most other manual vehicles.
Is it the gear changes sloppy, or just the knob itself?

could be a warn gate, or weak spring mine locks in as has new gate as old one was out of wack, the gate can come loose think it was a trox screw's holding it down

its sloppy in gear finds them all nice but it is way to loose.
ok i shall have a lil look

I think the gearchange mechanism is the same as every other Getrag-equipped RWD Vauxhall

so does any one know of a place that does a refurb or replacement kit?
do you guys have a epc for these cars or a man to cover the 2.5td???
